Hawkins is an anesthesiologist and healthcare information technology executive with 27 years of experience in healthcare and industry. He has previously served as Chief Medical Officer of Connance, Inc., Executive Vice President & Chief Medical Information Officer at Glytec and Chief Medical Information Officer at PatientKeeper.

Dr. Hawkins received a degree in biochemistry from Dartmouth College, his Doctor of Medicine degree from Georgetown University, and his anesthesiology training in Gainesville at the University of Florida. He served as a Medical Officer in the United States Navy during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, and he is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
